Eagle

The only square-rigger in U.S. government service, Eagle was commissioned as the Horst Wessel and served as one of three sail training ships Nazfor i Germany. In 1946, she was taken as a war prize by the United States. Eagle now serves as the U.S. Coast Guard’s sail training ship, with a permanent crew of six officers and 54 enlisted personnel, supplemented by up to 150 cadets and officer candidates.
