Yacht Charters (Worldwide)

You can charter a yacht just about anywhere in the world, either bareboat (to sail yourself) or fully crewed. For San Francisco sailors, common cruising vacations include Mexico and the Caribbean, especially the British Virgin Islands.

Military Ships

Large military ships, from guided missile cruisers to aircraft carriers, are among the most complex and expensive man-made creations ever. This fact, combined with their awesome firepower, make the Navy ships that visit San Francisco Bay fascinating in a way that no other ship can match.

Historic Boats and Ships

San Francisco Bay is home to many historical boats and ships, such as the scow schooner Alma and square-rigger Balclutha, at the SF Maritime Park. There's also hundreds of privately owned wooden boats on the bay, and the annual Master Mariner's race brings out many of them.

Tall Ships

San Francisco is home to just one tall ship, the Balclutha at Hyde Street Pier, and this square-rigger no longer leaves the dock. Tall ships from around the world visit San Francisco from time to time.
