Take a Sunset Cruise

Turning the Bay Pink. When the conditions are right, sunset turns the bay waters a wonderful mix of pinks and blues.

Sunset is often the most magical time on the bay. As the sun descends, the wind usually dies down and the birds become more active. If you're lucky, the sky will put on a show, and as it gets dark, the lights of the city make it sparkle.

If the weather is reasonably calm, the central bay itself is a great place from which to watch the sunset.
If you're looking for someplace more protected and are willing to sacrifice the view out the gate, try anchoring off the Sausalito waterfront.
Drifting along the San Francisco watefront can also provide a great view of the sunset through the Golden Gate.

Don't forget to turn on your nav lights and keep a close lookout for other boats.
